Weight gain ?

Dear body,
In case you didn't get the memo, I'm not trying to gain weight anymore!!!!

So... I started exercising about 2 weeks ago. In the first 3 days I gained 5 lbs. Ok, water... please drop off me. I was back down to my original weight a few days later. Now I'm back up 6 lbs. I don't get it? I know, I know.. water weight... but when the heck is this going to stop? I see visual fat loss, but my pants are fitting tighter. ARRRRGGGHHH!!! Can somebody clue me in? I've never had this reaction when starting new exercise. I don't want to say it makes me want to give up - it doesn't - but it sure doesn't motivate me much.. emoticon

    Relax. Fluid is of no consequence. It will slosh around back and forth day to day. Who cares. Keep tracking, keep moving. You know how this works.

    I also just posted a blog about gaining weight. Think about exercise as a means to making yourself healthier, even if you aren't seeing the numbers on the scale. I don't know if 6 pounds in 2 weeks is truly possible

    My advice is to not weigh yourself so much. Really!

    I went to a women's health event in Baltimore back in November, and the researcher there said, essentially, that exercise is important for keeping your body healthy, but restricting calories is more effective when it comes to weight loss.
