2012 Review... Just a 'lil Late

I had a brief moment on January 2nd to look back at my 2012 experience and it didn't look all that bad. I have lots of room for improvement but don't we always? They do say we are our own worst critics.

In 2012 I lost 25 pounds (157-132)! I was surprised to see this number. Now granted, some of these pounds that I had previously lost and gained back. But that is besides the fact. I had a pretty large gap in exercise tracked from May to August. I was outside working in my garden, which is better than nothing. I will have to focus on making time for my workouts in the morning once Summer comes, so I have the evenings free for gardening.

I'm way behind on blogging so I have a few other things to report.

From October to November - I lost 6", gained 1" on both arms, & lost 7 pounds
From November to December - I lost I lost 14" (WOW) & 3 pounds
From December to January I have lost an additional 3 pounds (it's not time to measure yet)

What I am very curious about is- the fact that I had gained an inch of what I thought was muscle on my arms from October to November; But then from November to December that inch was lost again. Does this mean that I lost muscle? Could it be that I lost fat? It has me puzzled and I intend on doing some research on it to better understand it.

Anyhow, I'm very proud of the work I did the passed three months. I tried very hard to stay focused and it worked. I'm getting stronger. I'm trying pretty hard to focus a bit on strength training as I always lose interest in it.

I feel like weight has been easier to drop off the passed three months though. I'm not sure that I can attribute it to just one thing though. I have changed the following and not all by choice.
-I can no longer eat dairy (I'm still going through the grieving stages of this lol)

-I have eliminated most starchy foods, like bread, noodles, rice etc. I still eat them, but
not like I use to. I either eat them for breakfast or lunch. Never for dinner.

-I eat bigger lunches and smaller dinners

-I eat A LOT more vegetables & meat

-I am no longer taking hormonal birth control and I honestly think this may have
something to do with losing weight easier(follow up from a previous blog I AM FEELING SO MUCH BETTER).

-I no longer have a gym membership. I work out at home. I purchased a treadmill & a
spinning bike, have been using free weights and videos. I do not have to worry sharing,
timing, what I'm wearing, or (yes I'm just going to say it) if I have gas LOL.

-I have been taking vitamins

-I eat smaller meals

ALL of these things I have been doing differently, I feel have helped in achieving better results.

Lastly I'm having a hard time looking ahead and I feel that needs to be in a different blog. I just want to really think about what I would like to do in 2013 and I haven't had time to sit down and do it.
