Day Off In The Middle Of The Week

Thursday, January 10, 2013

I had the day off today. Chuck turns 60 tomorrow and we had to go to Nellis AF base for new IDs. As of tomorrow Chuck is retired from the Air Force. So we were at the base by 8:30, got the the new IDs, checked on getting our Rx on base (they would be free..but inconvenient for us to do right now), got his password reset for his retirement login, and we were done. It took about an hour and a half. Then we spent the rest of the day running errands. We were gone from about 7 hours. It was nice just spending the with my husband.

Like I said above, tomorrow is my hubby's Birthday. He doesn't act like he's 60. He's still the sexiest guy I know. He still makes my heart sing. Love you always sweetheart! emoticon emoticon

Since I was off work today and we were out all day, I didn't stick to my normal weekly routine. No breakfast (We did hit Starbucks this morning), no lunch time workout, in fact we has Hawaiian for lunch. I has Sweet and Sour spareribs. Off the bones, there wasn't much meat there. I did eat the 1/2 cup of Mac salad and about 1/4 cup (or less) of white rice. And an unsweetened ice tea instead of diet coke. I had put a turkey roast in the crock pot before we left the house this morning,so dinner was handled (it had both white and dark meat). We did a lot of walking today, someplace along the way I picked up a U-No bar. That's a candy bar from my childhood. I enjoyed it and logged! So calorie wise...I was over by 8 calories. So I'm calling it good for the day. emoticon

So it's back to work for me tomorrow (hubby took the day off), I'm thinking that makes tomorrow my second Monday of this week!! NOOOOO!!!!! emoticon

I'm watching the People's Choice Awards as I do Thais blog and I have to say...what were some of those women thinking when they got dressed for this?! I mean..what was Alisa Key e's thinking when she looked in the mirror wearing that matador outfit? And her hair looked like it was all pin curls!! And the same goes for Lea Michelle...her hair was just ugly...and the dress isn't much better. Let's the rest of the show goes better....at least style wise. emoticon

That's all I have for tonight. So let's all kick back and look forward to the weekend!!!

Happy Birthday to the hubs !! Nah, 60 isn't old at all when you consider that Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Paul McCartney, Harrison Ford, etc... are all over 60. They seem to be thriving and I'll bet your hubby is too !!

So proud of you for sticking to your eating goals even though you were out and about. I can tell this is going to be a GREAT year for you! Give Chuck a big birthday hug from me. And tell him congrats on being officially retired now. I would be much relieved with things the way they are in the world these days. Maybe one of these days Arn and I will get back over there so Arn can meet him. I really want that! Hugs, Calen~
