Best Advice I Finally Took

That would be "Eat more protein, less carbs". Every breakfast I had this week had 15 or more grams of protein and each snack was a fruit or veggie with a protein. Low-fat and non-fat dairy was definitely a star in my tracker this week. For some reason, I hadn't been eating much lately in terms of dairy. With my quest for protein sources, non-fat Greek yogurt and cottage cheese came back for a return engagement - talk about your protein powerhouse. I am still at the low to middle end of my protein range, but I will continue to work on it.

All in all, my "more protein, less carbs" week was highly beneficial - I lost 6 pounds, had more energy, and rarely had that out-of-control-hungry feeling.

Oh, yeah, more protein was definitely good advice. I will continue to work on that.

    My nutritionist is constantly advisig me to eat lots of protien. I gave in and am doing low carb. Just goes hand in hand. If i eat sugar i crave sugar so i try to stay srticly with fruit and protien. Works well for me.

    egg whites are good too....
    this has worked for me too....lower carbs, I get most of my carbs from veggies and fruits....I eat very little pasta, rice, bread, even whole wheat

    There's an appreciable difference for me, too, when I start the day with protein -- love the oatmeal, but it doesn't love me back. Much better for me to do a "Muffin in a Minute" (12 g. protein, 1 carb) or eggs, etc. It is nothing short of astonishing how getting the protein kills the urge to binge. Glad it's working so well for you, Maureen!
