Oh how things do change. I have lost the weight, the problem-I lost too much weight. I broke my jaw Feb 2010 and was wired shut for a month. I had a total of 5 surgeries to try to repair. I went all the way down to 100 lbs and was having trouble keeping food down. Had to have stomach and esophagus dilated. I gained about 30 lbs and was doing good until.....I developed an ulcer which ultimately ruptured in 2012. Several hospital stays, surgeries later I went back down to 100 lbs at which point my doctor became very worried and placed a feeding tube in me since I was unable to keep water down. Apparently the opening from my stomach to my intestines was about the size of a pinhole. The ulcer was right at this spot so was unable to stretch that opening. I am up to 115 lbs now thanks to the tube and my oral intake is getting better but still cant digest tougher foods like meat. Ulcer is healing so will probably try for another dilation in a month. If I continue to increase my calories through actual eating I will be able to have this tube removed but as of right now I have to have it hooked up pretty much all the time. Which sucks and limits my ability to live. I'm trying to be optimistic though and realize that I am getting better.
