5k Training: Goals

Today was my second day this week of training, and it went well. Yay!

I'm not going to post my measurements because, to be honest, I'm tiny. I don't want to lose weight, and it's hard to know how many inches I want to lose. But that is what I want to do. My goal for SP is to lose my waist/torso/lower abdomen fat. Obviously, I'm not going to magically accomplish this through this training program, but I'm hoping to see an improvement in my body shape and image by the end.

My more measurable goal is to get under a 10 minute mile. I haven't timed myself running a mile since I was in 8th grade. It took my 11:29, which I remember because it was the day after my 14th birthday so I had to run the mile in 11:30, while everyone else got a whole 12 minutes. And I was dying at the end of that 11:29. I don't know if I'll be able to get to the 10 minutes in this round of 5k training, but I hope to be close. To average that, I would need a 30:06 5k. I am confident that I can make it there, if not in the next 7 1/2 weeks, then by this summer at least.

    A 5K is one of my goals too, and I know it's tough to stick with a walk/run program! Keep up the good work!
