Ezekiel 4:9 Golden Flax Cereal...Takes some getting used to...

Wednesday, January 09, 2013

So in an effort to expand my breakfast horizons as a newly found vegan, I bought some Ezekiel 4:9 Goldn Flax Cereal.

You see, I've been eating oatmeal and blueberries (or apples) every breakfast for the past few weeks (even prior to "vegan-hood", I removed my egg whites from my diet and only got eggs when I would go out to breakfast...never at home), and it is becoming boring.

My mom is reading a book called "The Plan" and it mentions "bad" foods that store in your gut and causes bloating (this is the basic gist I got from it...just glanced over the website, I am by NO means an expert on "The Plan"), and suggested Flax Cereal for a change, so I thought, what the heck.

I brought the cobalt blue box home and opened it up to just "taste" its contents...I must say, I felt like I was chewing on gravel. The texture was, well, like gravel. The flavor? Pretty much like shreaded wheat but in pebble form.

I was a little apprehensive when I got to work this morn, but I figured, I'm a smart chica, I can doctor this s#!+ up. So, I added about a cup and half of blueberries (ah blueberries) and a 1/2 cup of almond milk and you know what? It didn't suck!

Let us see if this makes my belly go down...eek!

Good luck to you all.

emoticon love how you describe your new breakfast and hey I might give that cereal a try. Blueberries are one of my new favorite fruits and I really like them frozen too. emoticon Have you tried blueberries in your salads?
