A letter to myself

Dear Self,

I know how you have been feeling lately.

Out of shape

What you don't see is that all those feelings can easily be changed. You have seen it before. Remember how good you felt when you lost those 30lbs? How you felt your confidence rise and your energy soar? Remember how it didn't take that much work to lose that weight? It was just a few changed and just a bit of motivation. You could still eat at that restaurants with your fiancé and still have a night out with the girls.

I know that you have gained the weight back after always losing it. And I know that you usually gain a bit more for good measure. Getting on the scale today was a bit of shock, wasn't it? Seeing 211.8lbs staring at you was a slap in the face. It's the heaviest you ever been and I know your size 16 pants are getting tighter. You never been a size 18 and I know you would break down in tears buying that size. The size 16 hurts enough.

You can do something about all this. You can make yourself feel and look better. You just need to follow the Spark program. It works. You know this. Get your head in the game and get off the couch. You just bought an elliptical machine so now there are NO excuses why you can't get 10 minutes of exercises in.

Think of your wedding day in May. Don't you want to feel beautiful? To not cringe at photos taken of you. Think of starting a family. Do you want to have difficulties during the pregnancy? To raise a child with unhealthy eating habits?

Stop letting the scale tell you how you feel. I know that when it stops going down you get disappointed and discouraged. That’s when you’re eating habits go downhill and you reach for the Oreos. Why would you let that scale dictate your day?

From now put the scale in another room and use it once a week. Not every day like you did before. You get so obsessed with the numbers. Like when you spent 10 minutes moving that scale around hoping to get a bigger weight loss. That was just sad.
It’s just a number. THAT’S IT!

Now stop making excuses and creating unrealistic goals. Unless you plan to starve yourself, you can’t lose 50lbs by May. Let’s just start with 10lbs, not feel out of breath going upstairs and having your pants fit better for now.

Come on. You can do this! You know you can because you have before.

Start RIGHT NOW and in a month you can see how far you've come. But if you don’t start you can't look back. Instead in a month you will be heavier, more out of shape and a size 18. You will be wishing you did something earlier.

Let’s stop resetting your weight loss story. Let's create an end, a sequel and a series.

Your healthier more confident future self

You can do it!!! Good start! Hope it goes well on the elliptical. If you need, you can add in one of the Spark videos to mix it up a bit.

This is a really sweet thing to do for yourself. I hope that you find the courage that you need, that you're a beautiful bride on your wedding day and that the end of your story is worthy of a best seller's list. emoticon
