No Need to Exercise....Do a Triathlon Today!

Now hear this! There is NO need in going to the gym to get started on your New Years Resolutions to lose weight. I have a sure fire way to get into shape, save money on gym costs AND get your house cleaned all in one simple workout. If you aren't sore and achey by the end of the day you aren't doing it right! The rewards are AMAZING!
Imagine going to bed and sleeping soundly (or just passing out from the workout) knowing your house is clean AND you got in a good workout. Don't worry by tomorrow morning you will need to do it again thanks to your beautiful children and loving husband. Big Daddy often tells me that if it weren't for him I would have nothing to do, He is right!

We call it the 10 Second Tidy
You are going to run, squat, swim and trek your way to a beautiful body in no time!
As soon as you get up put on your comfy yoga pants, a short sleeve shirt and comfortable shoes (we wear our flip flops so we can get in and out of them quickly, trust me here this comes in handy).
Start in your bedroom, make your bed, pick up your dirty clothes, hang up your clean clothes, take out the garbage, pick up / clean off / clear up as quickly as you can. Move to your bathroom, do the same thing. You want to start in your bedroom because this is the place you will end up this evening and you will be DEAD TIRED!

Now set the timer for 15 minutes
Fold a load of laundry! Put the laundry basket on the ground and squat to pick up each piece, fold the entire load, put it away! If you have time left over wipe down the washer and dryer and straighten your supplies.

Set the timer again for another 15 minutes
Clean ALL the bathrooms - scrub the tub, tub walls, sink and toilet, take out the garbage, sweep the floor and mop (we use a swiffer).

Set the timer again for another 15 minutes
Clean the kitchen! You know what to do :~) Just make sure that before the timer goes off you have cleaned off your counters and done the dishes.

As soon as the timer goes off we move to another room or start another task. The point isn't really that you clean but that you are moving, stretching, reaching and squating. Sounds silly but works AND YOUR HOUSE GETS CLEANED AS WELL! Set yourself a limit just as you would a regular workout, 1 hour, 2 hours, till your house Sparkles or you just can't move anymore!

Allie made up a neat game using this "method". We set the timer and rush off to clean our rooms, as soon as the timer goes off you have to stop and meet in the living room, then she comes to my room and tells me what I have forgotten to do (pick up my shoes, dust the top of my dresser, etc...) I have to do whatever she says. When it is done we go to her room where I do the same. She likes it because she says "I get to be the Mom". Her sister now does it with the grands, ages 6 and 3 and it works like a charm!
