I really love SparkPeople

There are so many good things on this site...the people, the plans, videos, recipes...if I come home from work and I'm having a bad day it really helps to get on SP and see how everyone else is doing.
Part of my plan is to eat 5 fruits and veggies a day. It's a simple thing but it turned out to be surprisingly hard. Never realized how little veggies I eat!
So I had cooked a pumpkin (not something I usually buy, it was from our garden) and had all this cooked pumpkin puree in a bowl in the fridge. Didn't want to make pumpkin pie or pumpkin bread, at least not yet, so I surfed through the spark recipes looking for pumpkin ideas. And there it was...a pumpkin pie smoothie.
That is NOT something I would ever have thought of by myself.
This morning I tried it, with almond milk and some pumpkin pie spice and splenda. It was delish! Smooth, creamy, spicy and SO filling. Bet I don't get hungry before lunch.
Plugged it into my tracker and it was 205 calories! Not bad for breakfast.
Thanks again, Sparkpeople!

What a positive attitude you have! Just decided to get on SP and hunt for a pumpkin recipe rather than give in to, "Oh well, the only thing I can do with pumpkin is make a pie or bake some (probably high-calorie) bread," huh?

Well, good for you! That's really thinking about how and what you eat, which means you are seriously on your way.

Best of success on the rest of your journey back to great health!
