My day with the cinnamon and honey

So this morning I had my green smoothie and it was amazing! I read this thing about how honey and cinnamon in combination was good for your, well, everything. It was a neat article about how it can attack different elements in your body depending on what you have. I know honey is good for you when you are sick, such as a sore throat or in hot tea for the chills, but never considered the two in combination.

So this morning I decided to put both cinnamon and honey in my green smoothie just for fun and see what it would do. Its amazing how much the cinnamon helped the taste! Not that they were bad mind you, but this was DELICIOUS! It consisted of mango (which I actually dont like, but still included it), about 15 frozen blueberries, a half of a frozen banana, wheat germ, almond milk, a lot of water, a ton of spinach, and about 3 tablespoons of Greek yogurt, a little honey and a dash or two of cinnamon. It was epic!!! It was like a healthy dessert :D

My next item on my list today included my wonderful husband driving us down to a local market we have here in town (which isnt that big, but still better than Walmart lol) and getting me some fresh produce to restock my fridge and pantry. He is the sweetest! He is seriously trying to help me out with this this time and is doing a fantastic job!

So at the market I got mushrooms,tofu, and scallions (among other things) so I can make some Japanese house soup (with just those 3 items) in chicken broth. I have very good blood pressure, so I am not worried about the sodium, but plan to drink that hot soup for lunch here around 2ish. :)

For dinner I plan to finish off some tomato bisque, as well as make Kale Chips which I have never done before, and sauteed kale (with a little bacon for flavor as well as getting some fat in my body today, since everything else is pretty slim with any fat what-so-ever)

Sometime today I plan to get outside even though its cold and go for a small run, or at least try to get some walking in. I am hoping that because its 44 degrees F outside that I will be able to job a bit more even with no endurance what so ever. We will see :)

Well other than cleaning, I think that I have talked about my day overall. Going to sit and enjoy some crocheting later, as well as treating myself to Skyrim (a video game on the xbox360) and just enjoy the rest of my weekend, before work starts again.

    I love green smoothies! I have also read about the health benefits of honey and cinnamon together. I often combine them in my oatmeal or tea. I also hear it is better to consume raw honey (which is what I use) without heating it, so I am going to try putting them in my smoothies. Thanks for the idea! I love cinnamon in everything, it is like vanilla extract in that it brings out the flavor in other foods.

    I just bought some soy whey powder.. was going to just use 1/2% milk, fruit and ice cubes, but I think I will try some of my Greek yogurt and that cinnamon.. and maybe some frozen raspberries and blackberries from my yard.. now you make me hungry!!!
