No dieting

Saturday, January 05, 2013

I have become hooked on smoothies, spinach, kale, banana, yogurt, blueberries, etc. plant based breakfast. reducing my meat intake. Meatless Mondays for sure. Fish 2 to 3 times a week. I bought a magic bullet and love it. I also got a small wok just right for 2 people.

Taking more opportunities to exercise. Here's the deal. No dieting just making some better decisions on what I eat. Not going to fall into the trap of saying you can't eat this or that. Just one meal at a time listening to my body and doing what I know is right.

I am on a budget however, need to save save save for retirement so I can travel. A lot!

I'm all on board with the no dieting and just eating in moderation. In the past I'd forbid myself to have certain things and it always ended badly! Now I'm learning, I can have it, but I will count it into my calories. Have fun with that new lens and be sure to share your amazing photos with us. I love my camera too and really need to rediscover my passion for photography.

I've been thinking about getting that magic bullet. I read some reviews that complained about leakage, but others said if you take caution and don't overfill, it will be fine. I want to significantly reduce wheat in my diet, but like you, I'm not for total deprivation. I'm finding my toughest challenge so far this year (5 days in) is exercise!

Your plan makes sense. I like the part about traveling.

    We have enjoyed our trips.

Looks like you've hit on a good plan, and one that you enjoy which , in turn, will help ensure success.

Re: saving money for retirement... Be careful to not buy too many fresh foods at one time. I sometimes find myself having to throw some of it into the compost bin because I didn't get all of it eaten soon enough. That hurts! (But at least my plants will benefit someday!)
