Not Worth the Drive

Saturday, January 05, 2013

I got up rather early for a Saturday morning to make it to the rec center for a run, before heading to a meeting in Moberly. Unfortunately the meeting was hardly worth my drive. It lasted for about 45 minutes and was mostly information that i already knew.

Needless to say, i am a little discouraged this morning with our association.

But more importantly you got UP and did your RUN!!! Now that counts for serious achievement....and a little snooze this afternoon might be a nice bonus :-)

Never was much of a fan of church politics! Don't know how big or influential your association is, but the best move Paul and I ever made church-wise was leaving a Missouri Synod Lutheran for an independent congregation. It's four hours away, and that's a big drawback, of course. But we get ALL of their Bible study classes and worship services on CD. And the e-mails fly, one of the 2 pastors is responsive by phone, and we meet with one of them when we do get there for a weekend. Guess it makes us kind of like pioneer Christians whose religious life centered in the home except for when the circuit rider came through!
