So what do you do when you realize that it's January 2nd and you forgot to order the 2013 diary refill for your planner? Well, momentary panic aside, you order them, right? But what if they're out of stock (and the projected shipping date is the END OF FEBRUARY! with no discount for the missing two months?!)? Yes, this is the pickle I found myself in today. I ordered my 2013 pages, only to get a very proper email back (well, it is a British company, so propriety is de rigueur, I suppose) informing me of this catastrophe. Egads!
So I decided to make my own. I can get blank paper in the proper size (already punched, too), so all I had to do was figure out how to simplify the process of making 365 pages (because why make each and every page when there must be a simpler way?!)
I promise this relates to fitness...just hang on.
After some lengthy googling, I stumbled across Philofaxy, a whole website devoted to hacks for people who are sick of paying Filofax retail prices (or who want to tinker with the standard templates!). I found a template for the size & basic setup I needed, and they'd figured out a way to harness the power of Microsoft Word's Mail Merge function to do all the work for me! I just had to plug in my starting date, adjust the template however I wanted, and BOOM! Custom planner pages! With the cost of the blank paper, I'm even coming out ahead!! And I don't have to wait for the end of February (or, le gasp, use some other planner!)
And one of the things I'm most excited about with this new planner? I made a space for my daily goals (y'all remember how much I love my daily goals, right?!?!), water intake, and exercise!! How cool is that?! Plus I still have space for all the usual stuff I need in a planner!
If any of you are nerdy enough to still be reading, here's a sample page:
I rather like being able to color in the exercise I did for the day...that might be my favorite new bit!
