Exceeds Expectations

Friday, January 04, 2013

My Day:
One of my co-workers said that it's really hard to cram 5 days worth of work into 4. That is so true. Throw a holiday, an inventory, a LIFO and try to get verification done as well as the regular work you perform over 5 days is.... exhausting, stressful, confusing.... all of the above. I'm not done with verification but it will have to wait until Monday.

Most companies have a yearly employee review. The company I was with previously had you rate yourself, the manager rated you, you requested a raise, the manager would give you half of the request, you would hash it out and know where you stand. This one is different. You open up your second paycheck of the year and you either see a raise or you don't. Heck, I can't tell you if I made bonus or not. So, I wait for 2 more weeks to see if I exceeded their expectations.

It's now or never because we have management announcing retirement left and right. Three announced today. I'll just announce that in 30 years I plan on retiring if I can afford it :)

My Diet:
Because the stress continues, I'm struggling to get within my calorie range. I know, I know, above 1250 or my body will go into starvation mode. Last night I ate a peanut butter sandwich to get to 1255! We'll see where I'm at when I log my dinner of mashed potatoes, corn, gravy, beef. I sure hope I'm exceeding my expectation there because I can't eat anymore.

I didn't exercise. I got out late from work and in order to keep with my resolution I had to choose something to give up as there's only so many hours in a day.

My Resolution:'s Flight plan said that today was Declutter my car and purse day. I cleaned out my car of debris and even ran it through the car wash. Cleaned out the purse, my bag, my lunchbox.

Today's hotspot, for the heck of it .... clean out the two cups that sit on my counter and endtable. I guess you can call them "crap cups" because I empty my pockets and put junk into them. Why DO I keep pens that don't work? I have quite a chunk of change put into my piggy bank that accumulated in those cups!

15 minutes was to go to the diningroom and get down and dirty with cobwebs. Okay, that's easy enough. Then it said that while I was looking up, check out the light fixture. Uhmm.... I totally forgot to clean that before company came for Christmas Dinner. I'm really glad no one bumped it because as I dusted it, out popped a few expired asian beetles.

I took the leaves out of my table since the kids will be leaving us soon. No sense in having a table set for 6 when there are two. Oiled the top and called it a night. I totally exceeded expectations there.

I might not be exercising but I sure am feeling a lot better about myself.

Tomorrow: Mount Everest aka Master Bedroom Closet.... or a small part of it anyway.

I hope you end up finding out you are appreciated for your hard work when you get that paycheck. Hang in there. Wonderful job cleaning your place too, as well as your car and purse. Good luck climbing closet mountain! emoticon
