SO, my whole "journey to a better me" thing hasn't gone well. Too many good foods during the holidays and being so busy that no one wanted to cook, has resulted in weight gain and no exercise. Last week I started p90x for who knows how many times now, did two days, and took a day off because I was really sore. And then didn't start again. So I started again today, and added TurboJam to it. I am sore. I am tired. But it's about damn time I stick with it.
I made many resolutions this year, as I do most years. They are almost all the same a previous years. Lose weight, get in shape, eat better, stop eating fast food, keep the house clean and organized, spend less and save more, pay off our car, get out of debt, and be a good mom. I added a monthly date night to my list this year. Hubs always complains that we never do anything. We only go out by ourselves once every four months or so. We do get to occassionaly go grocery shopping without the boys, but he says it doesn't count. I already have the next three months planned, and non of them involve going to dinner. All three are concerts, and I am so excited. I'm trying to use the concert dates as motivation to work out. The first is next week. The only thing I dread about this one is that I have to wear heels (dress code), but the band is great and when we saw them last time we had a blast.
I am finally able to cross something off of my project list. Next week the boys are getting new beds. We have the beds, just need another mattress. They've been sharing a bed for probably a year now. They are both so little it doesn't seem to bother them, but it bothers me. And there have been nights that someone rolls on someone else. The other things on my list involve sewing, which means I need to learn how to use my machine and stop being so afraid of it. I found some really cute flannel fabric to use to make sheets for their new beds. One set is donosaurs and the other is in their colors (my kids stuff is color coded by birthstone, which probably seems weird).
Hubs and I have also been having some adult time at night. Not like that! Instead of watching tv, we can be found at the kitchen table playing a board game or cards and listening to music from our high school days. It's amazing how something so simple (and free) can help us relax and enjoy each other. I think it helps that we are both competitve.
Goals for the Week 1/5-1/11
Keep up with the workout schedule. Yes it's hard, and yes it hurts, but it will be worth it in the end.
Clean the house. Get the Christmas stuff into the garage, clean up the garage so we can park in it, and get organized before school starts again.
No fast food. We haven't had any yet this year, and I hope to keep it that way. Hubs wanted Taco Bell two days ago, but didn't get any because we were making fajitas that night. I told him he could get some, but the rest of us would eat at home. He chose to eat with us.
