Want to reach goal by May

I have been a member of Spark People for a very long time. I started it because I feel it is a great program and tool to help me lose weight. In the past I have lost 40 pounds using WW. Since that is not in my budget now, I am using SP which is very similar to WW without the personal meetings. Unfortunately, I have not been disciplined enough to succeed. Well, this has to be the year that I do succeed. I have a family function in May that I want to show up at being 30-40 pounds lighter than I am now. It will be difficult right away for a couple weeks because we have visitors in town and will be out to dinner and such. I do plan to chose wisely but I know the calorie count will be higher than should be. I did do a 5K on 1/1/13 and went to the gym yesterday and did the elliptical and plan to do Zumba tonight, so exercise is not that big of a problem right now except with visitors it will be hard. But after our visitors leave next week, I will be back to it again. Can't wait to get in a routine and learn and do what is right to lose the weight. I really do hope I can succeed this year in losing the weight.
