2013 Start fresh

Thursday, January 03, 2013

It always bugs me when I see people looking at the New Year as a time to get motivated. It bugged me because I was that person who was doing stuff all year and New Year is no different. Well I am that person this year. I have been all over the board since my marathon end of October. I have run maybe 6 times and not been to the gym at all. So today I start over. I am doing this for me now. No more races scheduled. Now it gets harder because I don't have that race in the end to aim for.

We are still trying to sell our house which is stressful. We had an offer and they waited a week then decided they didn't want older house. So that left us to try to sell during the holidays which doesn't happen. Our offer on our new house is up Jan 15 so I needed to do something the next 15 days. I decided back to no alcohol and only whole foods. Instead of chips is carrots and hummus. I pulled out my cookbooks and made stuff out of Clean Eating diet book. I made grilled veggie frittata that I adored and this spicy peanut dressing for salad. OH soooo good. I aso made it to the gym for an hour.

Hope everyone's 2013 is better than the last year, I know mine will be. Back to Basics.

    Hi there,
I have just realised I haven't been getting any of your blogs since July!! Sounds like it is a bit stressful for you at the moment. Did you get another offer on your house in the end?
We are on the move again - my hubby starts a new job at the end of feb so we have just put our house up for sale - I know what you mean about being stressed out with it all. No interest whatsoever yet - it has only been two weeks and the weather has been horrendous so I am hoping over the next couple of months people will come and have a look.
I have joined the 5% challenge again which starts soon - I need to lose about 10lbs to get back to looking how I did on my profile pic!!
Speak soon and Happy New Year lol!

Oh Jillian, you have had such a wild year and especially the last few months. Although New Year's resolutions aren't always necessary or appropriate, sometimes a "new start" is just what we need; to be able to wipe the slate clean and start over. It sounds like you have a good start on that fresh slate. Your food sounds YUMMY!!! Wish my hubby would even try some of those things at least once in awhile. NOT, but I am cooking better nonetheless. I can't blame him for my eating. OR my wine consumption - GAH, I'm with you on that one. Let's stick together this year. I'll keep you in my prayers re: house - soooooo stressful!!!!
