Simple Diet Journal #31 -- Glad I Gave Away My Pants
Wednesday, January 02, 2013
A few months ago, I was trying to figure out if I should hold on to pants that had become too big. A number of Spark friends suggested to give them away -- and, that is what I decided. I am so very glad I did.
I gave away the two larger sizes and kept the current one. Then, I lost a bit more and had to buy a smaller pair -- leaving me with jeans in 2 sizes -- not 4. When the larger of the 2 sizes began to start feeling different (you know what I mean :-) -- I realized that I had to take action and get the ball in gear again. I'm so glad I did!
Now, I'm thinking -- that when I get down to a size that's a size smaller than the smaller pair I now own -- I'm going to give away the larger one. As I write that, part of me takes a small breath in -- thinking -- really? should I? But, if I really want to reach my dream weight and stay there -- what would I need the bigger size for?
I'm not one who likes to burn bridges with friends and family and former co-workers -- but, I think in this instance -- it's important to burn my bridges with bigger pants (that sounds so funny, but you get the gist, I'm sure :-) -- and it's proven to be so motivating -- a motivator to stay on plan that I never had realized could be so powerful for me.
Smiles for you today!
