Egads it's cold!

Wednesday, January 02, 2013

At 10am it was a whopping 19 degrees Fahrenheit! BRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!! I wonder how many calories shivering burns? emoticon

It's 2013. Another year. I woke up yesterday and thought 21 months until the wedding. emoticon . I need to get my butt in gear! Seems like alot of time though, but it really isn't when you think about it. There are alot of things we have to decide on, reserve, pay for, create, and the whole crap shoot of it. Why are we going all out on our second wedding? Simple...because we didn't on our firsts. Does this make us smarter? Not really. This wedding is an indulgence for us. Plex and I do not indulge ourselves very often, and this time we want to and mean to.

So what's on the burner for us? Welp, we are both doing the Biggest Loser Challenge 2013 on our Wii Fit Plus team. That means we will be moving alot more than we have in the first 3 months of this year. I am counting on this becoming habit for us. I need it to be. It's not that I am trying to lose the last 121 pounds before the wedding day. I want to be healthier by our wedding day. We plan on doing alot of hiking and exploring for our honeymoon, and that means we need to be in better health. We've already made a start, now we just need to up our game.

What are we going to do after March? Well, LARP season begins in April. We plan on playing in our usual game, and NPCing another game. NPCing is alot more physically challenging, let me tell you. You are non-stop, because your job is to make sure the people who paid to be there are having fun. You volunteered for it. You're lucky if you get a hot meal and a chair for 5 minutes in the minimum of 12 hours your there. If it's a full weekend, you fall asleep standing in a corner waiting for someone to tell you it's time to go give the players a good time again. It's half the fun of it. The other half of the fun is when you have friends who are playing the game. You get to show them a side of yourself that they never knew existed. It's freedom in acting!

But all that isn't a year's worth of doing. No sir. There is plenty of space in there for Renn Faires, costume making, long walks, swims (when it is alot warmer than the aforementioned 19 degrees), discoveries. This Saturday Plex and I are thinking of going into NYC with Panda. We told her we'd give her a ride to the train station, and we are thinking of getting on the train ourselves and just walking around the city. I haven't been in winter in a long time, but I always loved it. We'll just have to dress warm, in layers, and stop in places for window shopping and heat!

There are a few Sparkers I've made friends with here that I have discovered live kind of close to me. More like close enough for a day trip to visit. I'd like to do that if they are interested. We'll see.

We'll have high school graduations this year, and a college graduation as well. Tons of birthdays, and plenty of quiet time. Tons of food, and time to make the right decisions about it. Time to learn a bunch about myself, my health, and how it all ties together.

Right now, I am going to get off the computer and plan my workout for tonight. I think that's the place for me to start.

I just love a person with a direction!! You seem to have everything in order and now I'm going to watch you do this!! You deserve a great wedding, esp after working so hard for it and I like that you plan to have fun as well as getting in shape. I wish you well on your journey.

We can't walk like we used to but I used to love NYC at any time of the year. Such memories and isn't that what life is about, making memories!!
