2013 Goals

Last year I had a goal to complete 25,000 fitness minutes, I came up short but I was closed and I am proud of that. Today I figured out that to achieve this goal I only need to workout for 68.49 minutes a day, or push for a bit more and just do 70 minutes a day. Viewing it this way makes it easier, more manageable and I can easily see it as accomplishable.

We all set goals or make resolutions but we have no plan for how we intend to achieve it. I've been taking time to sit and think on my goals and devise plans of achievement for each one. For a few of them finances will play a roll but as long as I follow my budget they can be achieved.

My First goal is achieving 25,000 fitness minutes this year and I will do that by walking on my breaks/lunch; scheduling AM workouts on days that the paper route is light; doing kinect workouts at home or hitting the fitness center other days.

2nd goal: complete a 5K
I will restart the couch to 5k training on the treadmill for now and work on running outside once the weather is nice enough for me to run out side. I will take time to visit a running store for help with my stride

3rd goal - getting my finances under control
I will seek the help of a debt consolidation program or Lutheran Social Services and set/follow a budget

4th - tennis/golf
we use many of the same muscles and I will work on building these while I wait the warmer weather to actual participate in these activities, taking lessons when/where I can and continue my research on these activities.

5th - Rock Climbing/Vertical Wall Climbing
I will continue to work on upper body strength exercises like push-ups, pull-ups to build my strength and endurance for this. I also know I will need to keep my leg strength high to for pushing myself up.

6th - travel
be it in the truck with hubby or some weekend get aways with hubby we will make a list of want to sees that are short trips and a list of longer trips and organize them into what we think are must sees.

7th- get my shop open
I will take entrepreneur classes and work on my business plan as well as work to achieve more experience in the kitchen.

So far that is my plan, sounds/seems easy, I know it all won't be which is a-okay because I love a challenge.

    Whew! I love the details...breaking down the daily minutes is a great step-by-step goal-setting process. And you have lots of FUN on your list! That will make it all the more possible! I can't wait to see how much you've done by the end. : )
