Gallbladder, Christmas Eve, and a New Start.

Wednesday, January 02, 2013

I have been having gallbladder issues for years and did not even know it until one day when I had to be taken to the ER, but it was because of a severe kidney infection. With all of the scans they found that my gallbladder was not working correctly and they recommended that I see a gastro doctor, so I did. I went to one that my parents have used before, but I didn't like him at all and the people in the office were very rude. Still, he ordered a HIDA scan to be done and they found that my gallbladder was only working at 20%, so they recommended that I see a surgeon. I went to a surgeon that my mother used before and he fixed her hernia. I really do like the surgeon though. He actually sat down with me and told me what was going on. I had not known that my gallbladder was only working at 20% until he told me and he said that he recommended it out, but that it may or may not help anything. He was kind and honest. We went along with having it out and I was scheduled on Christmas Eve. So, Christmas Eve morning we get a call from the hospital and they asked me to come in earlier than my appointment because of a cancellation and we were off. I got into the hospital, to the place that they told me to go, and they got me prepped, then took me in. It was a very smooth process and I was out quickly in the OR. I woke up feeling sick and I started to throw up from the anesthesia. This lasted the whole time in the recovery room and after we got home. Family came over that night to exchange gifts and I threw up in front of them, which I felt horrible for, but thankfully I have an understanding family. I slept in a recliner for about three nights with my mom sleeping on the couch next to me and then I felt good enough to try to sleep in my own bed. I was glad to be back in my bed and it is much more comfortable than the recliner, but at first I could not get up out of my bed to go potty, so I had to use the recliner. I am still recovering and today I go for a follow up with the surgeon. I feel better every day though. I want to start eating better and get an exercise routine when I can move around better. I have a plan to order a bigger hard drive for my xbox 360 and then download some of the exercise demos to use with my kinect before my gold subscription runs out. I did try to download them, but my hard drive is too small and I ran out of space. I tried one of them, which was Zumba and it was fun, so I want to try more out. I can't afford all of those games, so the demos will do for now.

I hope you feel better. Don't worry. I threw up in front of all my family (and my husbands family) after my daughter was born.
