2013 Day 1

I did so well to start out last year. By the end of May I had lost 50 pounds. I lost about 6 more sometime in June just to gain back 16 by the end of the year. In total in 2012, I lost 40 pounds. My goal for 2013 is to not be satisfied with maintaining that 40 pound loss but to recommit myself to being healthier (which includes getting MORE weight off). I would like to not only lose another 50 pounds but I would like to participate in my first 5k with my dad.
I'm starting the year on day 2 of antibiotics and steroids. Nothing like 2000 mg of Cephalexin a day (for 10 days) to mess with your system. At least it's only 5 days on 4 mg of Dexamethasone. I went to the clinic because I had these sore spots on my neck that were just getting worse. Apparently I have had a sinus infection for 2 weeks now without even knowing about it. I've had a slight headache and now these sore spots (swollen lymph nodes). I guess I was more sick than I felt. *shrug*
So I know it's not realistic to just set one giant goal and hope you hit it. It makes it so much easier to be upset and depressed when you don't hit it. So I'm setting some smaller 10-pound goals as well as exercise goals to help me get to where I'm going.
Weight-loss Mini Goals:
+ Be at 282 pounds by March 10 (10 pounds in 10 weeks. Total: 50 pounds lost)
+ Be at 272 pounds by May 19 (20 pounds in 20 weeks. Total: 60 pounds lost)
+ Be at 262 pounds by July 28 (30 pounds in 30 weeks. Total: 70 pounds lost)
+ Be at 252 pounds by October 6 (40 pounds in 40 weeks. Total: 80 pounds lost)
+ Be at 262 pounds by December 15 (50 pounds in 50 weeks. Total: 90 pounds lost)
Exercise Mini Goal:
+ Do cardio sessions at least 2 times for 30 minutes each and at least 1 strength training for 20 minutes every week.
Well, I was going to put more mini-goals in for the exercise but I think I will do that month by month.
