Happy New Year!
Tuesday, January 01, 2013
The new year always seems to bring on a fresh start with all kinds of possibilities. 2013 will have a lot of changes for me. My son will graduate in May. I will have to move out of this house I'm renting for us. He will be moving into his own place. I will be moving closer to my sister and niece. My sister will more than likely move in with me. I'm looking forward to be closer to them. My niece has two little boys I adore.
Before my son graduates, I want to lose more weight. I've lost 80 lbs so far. It's taken me several years. I want to lose 50 lbs by his graduation day. That may seem like a lot to most people, but I know that it is doable. If I don't make it to the 50 lbs, it won't be the end of the world and I will be happy with any loss. It really helps a lot that my son is more focused on losing more weight as well. He's working on getting in more fruits and veggies by juicing. That isn't exactly what I want to do, although I have been tasting his concoctions to help show support.
I am also working on eating healthier by getting in more fruits and veggies. Now that my son is on the kick, it will make it much easier for me. We are continuing our walks with the dogs. I'm also continuing my streak with giving up Diet Dr. Pepper. It's now been 103 days of streaking.
My first order of business this week is to call and make a dr.'s appointment. I have no insurance. My sister just started seeing a new dr. Since I will be moving there in the next 5-6 months, I decided to call this dr. She grew up in the area, but just came back to be closer to her family and started up her new practice. Hopefully, she will take me on since I don't have insurance. I haven't been to the dr. in a year. I ran out of all my prescriptions months ago, which isn't good at all.
Here are my goals this month:
1. Walk twice a day.
2. WATP workout at least 3 times a week.
3. Strength exercises on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
4. Eat 5-6 fruits and veggies a day.
5. Drink 12 cups of water a day.
6. Avoid processed foods as much as possible.
7. No fast food, with the exception of Subway.
Here's to a year full of possibilities!!!
