2013 - electricity in the air (and goals)

Tuesday, January 01, 2013

So, it's not a crazy, "something REALLY GREAT is going to happen!" electricity, but more of a peaceful, positive, "this year is going to be SO much better than the last one" vibe... LOTS of changes over the past year (the last two years, really), and my emotional state was reflecting that... tons of stress, tons of anguish, tons of self-pity. funny how a simple conversation can open your perspective and change your whole world...

I feel so much better now and so much more positive about the future... so much more at peace.

So, on to 2013. I ate well today, and I did yoga for 20 minutes. (has been a while - my flexibility shows it, but I did it.) I might do another 20 minutes later tonight... thankful for yogadownload.com...

here are my goals - all manageable, and all re-startable should I jump willy-nilly off the wagon yet again...

1. read a book. a fiction book. just for fun. not everything has to be so darn serious...
2. run 3 5Ks in 2013. I know I'll do Run for Sarah in May, so just need to find at least 2 more... (might walk a few more, but I want to RUN 3 of them.)
3. 13 crocheted things for charity. I finished 2 already, but I finished them the last week of December, so not sure I'll let them count. I think they'll just be "bonus" charity work. one's already on the hook - my first stitches of 2013 were on this piece - wanted to start the year thinking of others...
4. Keep up the "Like Book." What a good idea... Write something down every day that you like - big or little - and them give it to your grandchild when it's time... What better way to get to know the real you? the simple things? love it.
5. visit somewhere new. can be local-ish or far away, but seeing new places refreshes my soul.

I think I can do all of those... and yes, I have my "lose 20 pounds" goal for this year, too, but I think in living well and in living less stressfully, that will happen. I'm eating more naturally and moving away from processed stuff (and breads), so we'll see... such peace, though... it's such an "I missed this me" feeling... hard to describe, but I feel like me again, and I couldn't be happier.
