New Year's Day Plans - 2013

I am thankful to awaken another day and see the new year dawning. Life is a blessing even though we have days, hours, or minutes that are hard. I am dressed in my workout togs but wanted to write my little blog entry first. My son and I finished reading our devotions by Dr. Chuck Swindoll yesterday at breakfast. It's called Five Meaningful Minutes. It is autographed because it was a Christmas present when I was on staff at my church years ago. I gave it to him for future use. We will begin a new devotional book today.

We cleaned house in preparation for my parents coming to eat with us. My son and I cleaned his room of toys that he no longer uses. The Nerf stuff stays for now. I am planning to make individual pizzas using homemade sauce. My family loves them. My middle sister and family won't be joining us since tomorrow she returns to work and wants to relax. I understand the sentiment! My youngest sister hasn't said if she will come. I will have to text her with the time once I am sure she's awake. I'll call my parents mid-morning and let them know the exact time since they tend to be flexible with timing.

My husband recorded Ocean's Eleven starring Frank Sinatra on TCM last night; we plan to watch it with my parents. Our son is even interested in watching old films, too. How old is he, really? I couldn't say because I know some of the films, actors, music, etc. of my parents' era quite well. Mama used to ask me my age, too. I would laugh and tell her that she knows.

All right, I am off to walk and begin my 2013 in a healthy manner, weather permitting. Last year, I exercised for 13,220 minutes. That's an average of thirty-six minutes per day for 2012. Wow! I actually did that, and I am proud of myself, too. Do something this year that makes you proud of yourself, too. ¡Ciao!
