Well, 2012 was a pretty good year for me. I accomplished the goal I've had for almost 15 years.... I competed in not one, but two figure competitions! Although I didn't place top 5 like I hoped, I am extremely proud of myself for having the courage to get up on that stage. I have always been shy and somewhat insecure, so it was a pretty big deal for me to have the confidence to do that. I am soooo excited to hit the stage again this year!
My level of fitness has improved so much over the past year, and although I've always liked working out... I will admit that I have had periods in my life where I lost motivation, and didn't stay consistent with it and I ate crappy food... to make things even worse. I always made it back to the gym eventually, but I always regretted losing all of the hard work I had previously done. Now, I truly have a love of all things fitness. I haven't lost motivation at all, I've continued to eat clean (I have eaten too much clean food at times, but I'm still healthy), and I've really started taking care of my body. I feel great! Over the past couple of years I've gained a lot of introspection and really evaluated what is important to me. I've learned to relax and take care of myself, and I think it's helped me be a better mother, friend, etc. I am looking to the future with optimism. I still have a lot of goals I want to achieve, but you can be sure I will reach them!
My fitness goals for this year:
Place in the top 5 of a figure competition
Compete in a Tough Mudder race
Get my personal training certification
Be more consistent with logging my fitness minutes on Sparkpeople
