Day 1 of Peak313 New Years Challenge!

Today was day 1 of the Peak313 Spark Team Challenge. I am still getting over being sick, but doing WAY better than yesterday. I was actually able to cook lunch AND dinner for my family. The boys had been eating things like pizza rolls, which they were more than happy to eat, but I wanted them to have something with a little more nutrition emoticon

Even with being sick, I have stayed within my calories (actually less than normal). I track my food on the myfitnesspal app. I got my Bible reading done (our challenge is to read at least 2 chapters a day). I actually read four chapters because each time I was about to stop, the next chapter ended so close to the end of the page so I didn't want to stop at the end of a page where there were only a couple lines left. Guess I'm weird like that, lol.

Obviously I did not get my workout in today. I did consider it briefly tonight, telling myself that maybe I would do some weights or yoga. But the more I thought about, I realized that would have been crazy. I knew that God was telling me to rest (even though I was feeling a bit stir-crazy!). I have my workout clothes set out for the morning for "just in case" I feel up to working out.

Another part of the challenge is to read at least one non-fiction book each month. I started Beth Moore's "Breaking Free" book. I am excited to read it, it's one that I have been wanting to read for a while. I ended up finding it at Goodwill for $0.25 (I love a good deal!) So far I have been doing a lot of underlining, which is always a sign of a good book for me.

I am excited about doing this challenge! It's the perfect way to start the New Year!

    Glad that you are up and running Erin. That is too funny about the boys and the pizza rolls, LOL. They are a favorite here as well but only sparingly.

    Keep pressing and I pray that you get a lot out of that book. I think I will add it to my To Read list.

    Glad you're feeling better! Whatever is going around is not pleasant!
    I read my Bible. I'm not doing two chapters a day bacause I'm reading through Jesus Calling which is a daily devotional. I read a day in there and then a chapter in my BIble. Hope that's OK. I worked out for 30 minutes before church yesterday and I haven't decided what book I"m going to read. I read Beth Moore's Believing God. It was amazing! Hope you get your workout in today!

    Great way to start the new year! I got a Bible app and I started today. Planning to read the one-year plan. It includes Psalms, Proverbs, NT and OT every day. I haven't started reading a non-fiction book yet but I'll look--I have a lot of books I have yet to read! Didn't workout today. This week I stayed at my in-laws and didn't work out for the last half of the week. Have a workout planned for tomorrow. I made a plan to go with my brother to the YMCA to make sure it happens! Eating hasn't been great either. I'm going out of town for a wedding on the 2nd and I am determined to stick to the plan during the trip! Thanks for posting this challenge. It is motivating me!!
