Let the New Year begin already!

Sunday, December 30, 2012

This morning I found new resolve. I actually grabbed my water bottle and headed downstairs to the treadmill, then did weights and stretched. Now I have gained back 20 of the 40 pounds, so more attention to sparkpeople pages and logging everything I eat. When I followed their plan, I lost 40 pounds in about 4 months. So that's where I begin today. Today is my last day of unmeasurable dishes!

I was blessed to have my daughter, Janet and her 3 beautiful children with me at Christmas. Next year we will be going to her house. We have decided to trade off on Christmas. The magic of a 5 year old in the house on Christmas morning is a beautiful thing. Especially when she is allowed to wake everybody up in the house - not me, because I was already up. But, boy, did we bake and cook, color and play games. Lucy learned how to play fish and "old maid!" It definitely reinforced why you have children when you are young!

So after weeks of decorating, it is time to take it all down and wait for another year to pass! As for baking, well, let's just say I used more sugar and butter in the past month than I did all year. Hopefully, this year will see many of us reach our goal weights. I will again put my best food forward - I have lost too much to go back the other way any longer. May you all have a blessed new year and the motivation to reach your target!

My kids are a little older, but still nice to see them opening presents on Christmas morning. Happy New Year to you!

It definitely makes Christmas more magical with one who still believes.

Christmas is much more fun with a young child in the house. the youngest in our celebration is 18, so we are all layabouts in the morning.
