So much to catch up on

Sunday, December 30, 2012

Well there is so much to catch up on yet not much time to do the catching up. So I will do this is one or two liners...

Donut man's brother his home from the hospital. He got home on Friday the day of the school shooting. The celebration of him coming home got almost over looked by the deep sadness of that day. I work in an elementary school.. this has been very hard to cope with!

The Oregon Mall shooting happend at the mall we were at when we had gotten the phone call about my brother in law in the first place. I had been at that mall 3 days before the shooting. My sister in law was going to take her 6 year old daughter there that day but didn't because I had taken her 3 days before. Literally turned the car around half way there!

Given all of this finding my Christmas spirit was VERY HARD this year!

We had a trip to Florida planned for the week before Christmas. We canceled it due to my brother in law. I was OK with it, but sad at the same time

Saturday before Christmas we went up to the mt to make up for the missed Florida trip. It was a very calming and relaxing time for Donut man and I before the hustle and bustle of the 48 hour of Christmas that we had coming.

We skied Saturday night!
We skied Sunday ALL DAY!! Two different resorts!
We went for a very romantic sleigh ride thru town, Christmas Eve, eve.. Shouting "Merry Christmas" to every one we saw. It was gently snowing the whole time!
We had a privet hot tub suit and we were so exhausted from our day that we fell asleep in the hot tub.. Oops!

morning we headed down the mt to get ready for a whirl wind Christmas.
mid morning we went and got my Christmas present! emoticon (more on that later)
Afternoon getting ready for Christmas eve dinner
Evening getting my step daughter.
Family arrived about 6:30 for Dinner, Christmas cheer, and presents! A fun time for sure!

Tuesday Christmas:
Morning up early for Breakfast with the family that spent the night.
Packed, loaded up, got my niece over here.
10:00 am on the road for a 3.5 hour car ride to the in laws..
1:30 quick hello can't talk now.. gotta get the prime rib cooking!!
We had dinner cooked and every one showed up from all over the state for dinner by 5:00 pm! A new PR for this family!

Then it was time for the pictures! It was so emotional we know this will be Mikes last Christmas and we didn't deny it or hide it. Yet we CELEBRATED IT!

Thursday we came home to get ready for the next part of our celebration for Mike.
Friday we took the northern family up to the Mt and got the little ski lesson for the first time. It was a perfect day for them to learn to ski and they all had a blast!

Sat I was back at the pool swimming! And then did a 30 min pre core /elliptical run.

Today is Sunday we are headed back up the mt to do more skiing!

This blog doesn't show all the emotions I've felt and dealt with over the past few weeks. but it's caught you up some. OH and I LOVE MY CHRISTMAS PRESENT>> But that's another blog!

Your little mini vacation at the mountain sounds wonderful, and relaxing. I've missed your blogs but also understand with your BIL being ill. I hope 2013 will be kind to you.
