How to Succeed?

How do you put faith in yourself when you've failed so many times?

Its the beginning of a new year soon, and I need to start doing something about my weight....before I get even larger. I've tried so many times.....failed so many times.... succeeded once.

2009 - joined Sparkpeople and lost 70 pounds, so I could feel good about having a baby.

2010-2012: Numerous attemps at losing weight. I gained weight on Weight Watchers. I've tried Sparkpeople, but always end up eating mindlessly or participate in emotional eating.

Whats going to make this the year I do it? I have made a spreadsheet. I know there will be ups and dows, but have my spreadsheet set up to lose 2 pounds per week. If I do this, I could be close to my goal weight by this time next year.

I just keep asking myself - how are you going to stick to it this time? Sure you are motivated now, but what about three weeks from now? What are you doing differently this time to make it a success?

Well... I did make my spreadsheet which I've never done before. Went grocery shopping for healthy foods. Told Dan (my husband) that I need support and he is willing to eat healthier as well.

I know exactly what I need to do and am very educated on this subject..... but my motivation and follow through stinks. I just have to take it one meal, one day and one step at a time. Celebrate the smaller goals, which will turn into larger goals.

Does anyone have anything thats helped them?

    I too have gained and lost more weight than I care to count. However, this is all about consistancy. Doing the right things everyday. Being AWARE of the emotional eating and choosing not to participate. Look, you are going to have bad days, even bad weeks. We all do the key is not beating yourself up over this. Dust yourself off and attack the problem. Don't ignore the things theat are holding you back from becoming the success that you and all of us here know that you can be.

    A year from now I expect to see a post here about how you have almost reached your goal weight and what a great year it has been despite the challenges.
