I managed to get out and buy kettlebells today, as well as gear for running outside in the winter. So I have no excuse. For exercise, I'm thinking running 2 days a week, kettlebells 2 days a week and a class at Goodlife once a week. In addition, I'd like to get to the Fitbit goals of 10,000 steps and 10 flights of stairs per day. 10,000 steps is tough for me in my sit down job for sure. I can pretty easily get to 5000 steps a day, and the 10 flights of stairs isn't usually a problem, but 10,000 steps is a tall order.

I made turkey soup yesterday, as well as split pea with ham. I thought they were both pretty tasty, but I think I liked the pea soup the best. Both are slow carb friendly, but I think they'll be gone before I start back into slow carb in earnest.

I'm not getting any of the house cleaning/organization I had planned done. Maybe sometimes it's better to just putter around and relax.

Had pizza for dinner tonight. My stomach is protesting a bit I think because of the pizza, and yet I still want to eat junk food. Have to get it all out of my system in the next 2 days, because after that it's back to slow carb.

I need to re-create my running playlist, which got lost in a cell phone transfer. It really helps me to run to music. I want to do a 5K resolution run in my neighbourhood on New Year's Eve, so I'll want my playlist for that, and I'll need to map out a 5K route as it's likely the paths I normally used won't be plowed. We've gotten upwards of 40 cm (16 inches or so) of snow in the last couple of weeks. The major sidewalks are plowed (and I see people running on them), but the paths I normally use are probably not going to be passable again until spring, or a major thaw.

Looks like New Year's is going to be a low key event around here. Possibly just me and my boyfriend. Maybe a friend of his and his girlfriend if they can get a babysitter. Might be nice to have a quiet evening with a movie, fire and some bubbly though.

I have a sit down job as well, so if I don't get on my treadmill first thing in the morning, I don't get my 10,000 steps in. Hate it!

Sounds like you have a good plan to get the new year started right! emoticon

I am right there with you on the snow front - I live in WI and we got hit with a blizzard last week - no more outside running for me. I received a runners fleece for Christmas so I can get back outside to run but there's no road - (just snow) which means I have to drive into town to run without the snow blocking my way - which requires more motivation haha... oh well!

Good luck with the snow! I hope you enjoy your new clothes and kettlebells!
