No more Coca-cola.

Saturday, December 29, 2012

As you may have noticed, if you pay attention to my status updates. I have been fighting a headache the last two days. It was at migraine level yesterday, and about half as intense today, so there is improvement. The only time I get headaches like this is a few days after having a coke, or two. I have cut down significantly, allowing myself to only have it on holidays, which ends up being about once a month when birthday celebrations are included, but that always resulted in the same pounding headache two days later.

So... I am done! For good. It's not going to be easy, as I thoroughly enjoy the ice cold fizzy sweetness, but it is obviously something that my body can't handle, even in moderation. It will take work, especially when I have a 2-ltr in the fridge and one in the pantry. But, I just need to have self-control. I bought these bottles expecting to enjoy them on new years eve, but I don't think I should allow myself to do that either. So, I told the hubster that he can have what he wants on new years eve, but then it's got to go. He can take it to work and put it in the fridge for others to have.

Here we go...

Let your body speak to you and it will tell you what it can and can't tolerate. I'm glad you figured out that you can't have soda. You can do it! It won't be easy, but if you just hang in there then I know you will succeed. Happy New Year to you and your family!

emoticon I was hooked on Dr. Pepper so I know the feeling. I haven't had one since June and I don't miss it at all.
