It's always hard to lose a loved one, and we especially feel their absense during the holidays. I lost my Mom in 2008 - she made it to 80 years of age. I took the opportunity to let her know how much she meant to me, and the influence she'd been in my life, before leaving on a mission trip. She told me that if she passed before my return, not to cut the trip short. So I was with comforting friends when the news came just a few days before my return to the states. My Mom was always supportive of my work, and the way she always accepted my friends influenced my own open heart. I sprinkled some of her ashes in the different places where i ministered on my next trip, so that she would also "be there."
I am sure your Mom is proud of your choices. May God bless and comfort you and strengthen you to make more healthy choices.
