Starting to remodel/clean up

Friday, December 28, 2012

I didn't get much walking in today or "exercis", but I sure did get worn out working in the front bedroom. A friend of a friend came over to help me take out the little boards that they put the carpet on. Then I had to move things so we could get to the other areas of the room. The floor in that room had gotten ruined some time ago so there were several boxes of things in there and the bed that was torn down. (Actually, there are boxes all over the place) We got all those wood strips out (I'm not sure what they are called) and all the staples and nails as far as I know. Now I will be heading for the next room to tear out the carpet.

Yesterday I did get called about the stress test I am supposed to take. She said I didn't need to actually run on the treadmill. They only go as fast and long as the person can actually do. She did say I should be able to walk up two flights of stairs without stopping. I am not sure if that means to two floors or just one floor in an office building or the hospital buildings (I have done that fairly recently). So I went up and down my basement stairs (both ways) 4 times. It wasn't my breath that ended up stopping me from more, but my legs wore out. So I got some exercise that way. I am hoping that I will be able to do more before that appointment which is now in the middle of the month.

Anyway, Eventually this house is going to get organized and I will have the wood floor with rugs instead of dirty wall-to-wall carpet.

i've taken most of the carpet out of my house, still have some in the master bedroom. my original wood floors need to be replaced, but that is more than i'm willing to do. i usually spend new years day deep cleaning some part of my house.

We just took up carpet and put in hardwood floor in the bedroom this past fall. So I am good to go but I can know you can get impatient when remodeling. Have great day.

Removing carpeting is hard work but having the wood floors is so worth it. Good luck but take it easy, okay? don't overdo it.

We pulled the wall to wall up through out the whole first floor, then up the steps. Then took it out of the last bedroom. Yucky, dirty, hard work. We were fortunate that the floors underneath were beautiful light oak.

But ripping carpet is a BIG job. So, I'd say you got a lot of exercise!

Want to come over and rip out my upstairs hall way? Only 65 feet , or so !?
