New Gear is Awesome!

Friday, December 28, 2012

I got to try my Christmas presents out when I took the dogs walking. New gear is WONDERFUL! I was nice and toasty. It was terrific. I still hate winter because it is so dark but I'm not freezing to death anymore. So one of two things that make me want to hide in the house has been taken care of. I don't think I'm going to find anyone to follow me with a sun lamp so I'm stuck with dark.

I will have hubby take some pictures over the weekend of the ninja mask. I need a new avatar any way.

My eating still is not really under control. I'm not over, yet anyway. I'm at the low end and I'm still kind of munchy. I don't know, maybe I just have to ignore it. We'll see how long things persist.

I think I'm actually playing creative avoidance even blogging right now. I just don't want to go out in the dark. Guess I need to get off my bum.

Ok, I'm out. Warm Wags.

I'm so glad the new gear is keeping you warm! Do you have one of those head lamps that campers often wear? Closest thing I could think of as a lamp to follow you.

It is hard to get completely back on track when the "habit" of it has been broken. In some ways it feels like starting over, only thing now is we know we can do it and it's not as hard as we originally thought it was. I've got the food back under control, although I'm craving junk again but that will go away in a week or so. Have to get back to more consistent exercise again. We can do it!

I missed out on your 12 days of Christmas challenge and would love to join you on something in the new year. Keep us posted!

Ahhh... reading your post about walking the dogs at night in the winter made me so nostalgic for my Mutt Brothers. It snowed last night and we loved going for walks in the snow, even when they were old and arthritic, they seemed younger and more playful in the snow.

Enjoy your cold weather gear. It definitely makes a difference having the right clothing. My husband didn't know what he wanted for Christmas this year, but I did and I asked his parents (who love to spend too much money on their son) to buy him a pair running pants and shirt out of the latest and greatest tech fabric. He used it the next day in 25 degree weather, worked up a sweat and didn't get the least bit chilled when he walked the last bit of what would have been his run when he caught up with me. (Did that even make sense?)

Anyway, enjoy the heck out of the cold, the dogs and the gear. Not necessarily in that order.

emoticon for new gear to keep you warm when you go out for runs and walks! I'm not a fan of winter either! We should move to California where the winters aren't as big of a deal. :) Can't wait to see pics of you in your new gear! emoticon

Enjoy your walk. I also can't stand how dark it is in the winter. But i cleared space so i can walk on the tread mill yah. No snow will keep down and out. I want a sun lamp though.

Your new "warm" gear sounds wonderful. Maybe we can like zip tie a flashlight to that ninja mask to help light up the dark for you. emoticon

That's great that you will be warmer now exercising, sure beats being cold. I know I couldn't get the motivation to go out if I was cold either.
I would love to see a picture of your Christmas gifts! How nice that you got them items!

Warmth is a very, very good thing! I hope you got out there and worked your new gear and Fitbit. As for the eating, I'm having some problems too. But the last couple of days I've been reminding myself that the primal part of my brain that expects to eat a ton and then hibernate for the winter is no longer useful. We don't live that way anymore.

It has only been a couple of days, but so far it's been working!

Sounds great, Kitty! Glad you're enjoying your new gifts! Be careful in the park again... watch out for that creepy guy who bothered you and Tazzy the last time! Be safe!

You be careful...wait, what am I saying - you have Tazzy and she's an even better protector than Batman!

Sounds like you will be very toasty, but I'm with you, I don't really like the winter. It seems like it is dark more than it is light. I know your girls appreciate all the sacrifice you make for them.
I'm having an eating problem too, making a New Year resolution to get back on track. I've cheated long enough. Has been almost 2 weeks since I have been to the gym. It must be a "team virus" going around. emoticon

Your new gear sounds delightful! I was looking for a jacket to run in the other day--still need one ;-(, especially with all the snow and cold. Have a good run and be safe in the dark!

Hey if you find someone with a sunlamp let me know too! Those early morning walks are in the dark and not my fav either. BUT Mr. Spot the Wonder Dog . . . he who must be obeyed! LOL Glad you gear is keeping you toasty. Wonderful!! Makes walking much more comfortable outside.

emoticon I need someone to follow me around with a sun lamp too. I am staying warm enough these days, except for my fingers. Need to get out my really heavy gloves. lol! Yay, for new gear!
