Today is my double-versary!
A year ago today, I joined sparkpeople, weighing 143 pounds. I lost down to 123 (my goal was 125) in July. Since then, I've bounced around a bit, but the things I've learned on SP have helped me so much. Right now, I'm at 126, which I consider AWESOME since I just spent a week in the eating capital of the world, my mother in law's house in Waco, Texas. What??? You didn't know that was the eating capital of the world??? Well, it IS.
I won't even tell you all the manner of nasties that were there waiting to tempt me. I gave in to some, skipped others, but I worked out most days, walked the dogs several times every day, and made LOTS of good, sparky choices, so I'm pretty proud.
Sixteen years ago today, I married my favorite person in the world, and believe it or not, he is STILL my favorite person in the world. I may even like him BETTER now that I've seen him become a daddy. I'm such a huge proponent of marriage. I love our relationship and our marriage very much, and I'm so glad he is always on my team.
There is a lot to celebrate today. I feel SOOO much better than I did a year ago, and my wedding dress is actually several sizes BIGGER than I need. I may put it on today and twirl around just for fun.
It is a rainy, cold day today, and my anniversary plans got dashed because my 14 year old was offered a lucrative babysitting deal for this evening. We'll celebrate tomorrow instead, when she can babysit her little sister for us, but said little sister is currently making a breakfast to order for the whole family to make up for our lack of dinner out tonight. I'm feeling like a pretty lucky mommy as well as wife today. :)
Life is good - life is AWESOME - and I'm so grateful to my sparkfriends for making this year full of health and happiness.
I'm looking forward to the year ahead too... I've changed my schedule at school and I'm hoping I'll have much more time for family and sparking. I know I've been out of touch a lot, and I look forward to blogging more and watching you all reach your goals in the coming months.
