A Surprise

Friday, December 28, 2012

I love movies. Often when one is coming out I look forward to it a great deal and then it is interesting if it lives up to expectations. I sure married the right man as he is just like me except that the popcorn means a lot more to him than me. I can take it or leave it. Recently I went to 'the Hobbit'. It was good but somehow the book was so much better. I found it a bit dark. By this I mean the setting, clothing and a lot of characters. Strange because I just love Tolkien's wierd, make believe world passionately. Oh well, I don't expect to always be thrilled. Oh, and by the way the tickets we used were free and now we were given 4 more free tickets so we went to the movies yesterday. What to see? Hmmmm? The only one that looked even half way good was something called 'Incredible Adventura'. Remember this will be in english with spanish subtitles. So I saw it was the 'Life of Pi'. I did not hold out any great expectations. I was so amazed by that movie that I am still reeling. How did they make a movie about a tiger and a boy in a lifeboat. We were riveted to our seats. Both Charlie and I kept commenting on aspects all evening long and I expect today we will be commenting on it as well. That is the BEST movie I have seen this yr. and I saw it on Dec. 27th. Other than that high point I had a great day. Went for sushi with a very dear friend and then the movie. Had spanish in the morning as I will this morning as well. Life is good!

I love movies, but see far more at home than at the theatre. I really love watching all of my favorite holiday movies at this time of year.
