A New Year Approaches

What a year it's been.
Exactly 1 week ago, my beloved Auntie passed away from lung cancer. She was not a smoker. I don't have a large family, and we are all extremely close. She was a very outgoing, loving lady who lived a very interesting life. She traveled the country as a nurse, taking care of celebrities who would write songs about her. I can only hope to be like her one day.
I spent most of 2012 maintaining my weight. I'm ending the year at 176 pounds, which is still not my starting weight of 204, but I've been on this weight loss journey for 2 years now. I hope that the upcoming year brings a skinnier me.
Money is as tight as ever. Took another test for a state job. I had to drive all the way to the capital (Sacramento) to take it. I don't think I did very well, since there were several math questions that I didn't know the answer to. I had no idea that I relied so much on calculators these days.
For 2013 I hope to find a job. Anything at this point. I also want to start the South Beach diet again, since I lost so much weight on it, and I really did feel better. My year end weight goal will realistically be 150 pounds. I have no idea what life will throw at me in the upcoming year, and it's really impossible to set goals without a clear plan, but I've done some amazing things with new year resolutions in the past. Let's hope I can do some this year.
