The Last Few Weeks

Thursday, December 27, 2012

New Year is coming. It's fast upon us! Resolutions? Regrets? Predictions? I have a few of each. This past year has been pretty darn good in the sense that I met Cory, still have a job, continued to exercise, met some great friends, made some decisions, and frankly that I am still alive and kicking. I did let my diet slip and I did quit losing weight. I did make some not so great decisions, but Hey! I'm still alive and kicking.

So what's been up in my life? Thought you would never ask!

The last week and a half or so has been very tough for me. My Ex that I dated for 6 years, well his grandmother died last Wednesday and I was very close to her when Eric and I were together. She had a cancerous tumor come up in her neck severing her spinal cord causing her to lose the ability to walk. A few months of this and she lost consciousness one night while she slept. They took her off of all the machines the following morning around 9am. Mema was a fantastic woman. She was fun and crazy and just made me happy. I had not seen her in over a year, not because I lived so terribly far away, but the fact that I distanced myself from Eric when we broke up and that included his awesome family. So I had a viewing and a funereal to go to. Depression slipped in and so did the sweets. I baked homemade cookies because I had no prepared sweets in my apartment to binge on. I just laid around and wept and ate. Took a few days to get out of that mood and then of course it was Christmas.

So needless to say this is the best Christmas I have had in a very long time. Cory outdid himself! Really.

Presents Received From Cory:
Kitchen Aid Standing Mixer
Breville Juicer
My Little Pony Gym Bag
Sewing Machine
Unicorn Necklace
Unicorn Wallet

Yeah I know right!
Needless to say I was excited!

Cory was also excited for the gifts I got him including a new Acoustic Guitar, Waffle Maker, Clothes he desperately needed, and All Seasons of The Big Bang Theory!

We had a very good Christmas together. He got to meet my family and surprisingly it went well. I wasn't worried about Cory or anything, but my family on the other hand... LOL

Us on Christmas Day!

So the next order of business.

Plastic Surgery for Amber Nichols scheduled for Feb 26th at 5:45 am.
What will be done:
Tummy Tuck
Back Shaping/lipo
Abdomen Redo Thingy- Sorry all my paperwork on this is at home!

Worth It?

Luckily my Stomach is not so bad to have to have a lower body lift. The doctor said this has a lot to do with how much I've tones, my age, and the fact that I have not had kids...

I decided to start with just these areas and then if I decide that I want more done then to move forward. I only want to miss a max of 2 weeks from work so that was a huge factor in this!

No words can explain how excited I am for this. Losing weight is great, but not feeling comfortable in your new body isn't. I think this will be just the boast that I need to keep me going.

That and all the Nutrition Documentaries that I have been watching. Damn I love them. I just love the learning new things when it comes to my health. I've been doing major research on how to make sure to have a healthy diet considering all my medical scares this past year and I think I've got it down and Cory is on board too!

Needless to say I'm planning on starting this year on a good note! Well Gotta get back to work!

Those gifts look awesome! Good luck with the doc. The $$ you spend now will make you feel so much more comfortable in your body... I saw this even as I feel like ripping my one arm off. Its worth it. You worked hard, and this is your present to yourself. I mean, Its no My Little Pony Gym Bag, but its close ;-)

I remember I used to be scared sh*tless by the idea of plastic surgery - so much so that I got scared into quitting some of my earlier diet attempts that were going well enough that it started to become evident that I would need some surgical alterations afterwards. But I had the amazing opportunity last year to take my good friend Boscoe to the hospital for his tummy tuck, and to be around to take care of him for a couple days afterwards. It wasn't anywhere near as horrific as I had imagined it. He was in the mood to make silly jokes immediately after waking up from the surgery! It was awesome, and he healed up great. And I'm not scared anymore!

I'm excited for you and I can't wait to hear about it when you are healed and happy!

Wow! You are so spoiled. Haha. I bought myself a Kitchin Aid mixer for myself for Christmas. I love it and I have wanted one for a long time. Mine is black. Have you seen those fancy air brush painted ones they sell? The lady that does them lives in town near me in Washington, but wow is it expensive. Mine is fine black. Enjoy all your goodies.

Wow, the surgery sounds scary (bill and all) but I'm glad you know you're making the right decision for you. Exciting!! I'm looking forward to hearing all about the process and outcome... and maybe pics cuz I'm weird like that.
