Christmas 2012 Blog

Wednesday, December 26, 2012

Hi all! I thought i'd write a blog rather than trying to update in thread posts. This way I can include pictures!

I had a wonderful hanukkah with Scott this year. We did 8 days of presents. I got gardening stuff mostly, which is perfect. I gave Scott silly gifts and stuff for his office.

I also got a sewing machine. I made a skirt and dress. This is attempt two of the dress, not he best picture of me but hey, we're forgiving here on sparkpeople. I'm posting this for Carol who I'm hoping I can teach me to sew!

Here is a picture of my dog Kuma in his christmas collar. I love this!

I then went to Luxembourg on the 20th. I visited a friend of mine from collage and it was great!

I then made my way to Germany for Christmas. Many of you, I met when I was an Au Pair. I started on Spark People during that time. For those of you who don't know, I spent one year as a nanny for three kids. The father is a Lutheran minister and the mother is a doctor. For Christmas I went to 5 church services! That's a lot for anyone. The kids were in all of them and it was great to see them doing kids things!

Here is the church on Christmas eve.

Traditional Christmas trees have candles on them.

Presents are opened on Christmas eve. It was great to spend my third Christmas there (2006 and 2008). I really know the traditions now.

We went to a few art exhibitions and toured a cute town on Christmas day. It was great.

That is all for now!

Fabulous pics! I love the architecture.

There is nothing for us to forgive, you and the dress are adorable! It doesn't look to me like you need me to teach you anything about sewing - woo hoo on first projects! I'm so happy that it worked.

How fun that you went back to see your family again. I'm excited to go visit Martino and his family. It's fun to travel to see "family", even if they are only borrowed.

Kuma looks so adorable. My dog used to carry his leash or collar in his mouth too. ...even when we'd go for walks where a dog has to be on a leash.

The town is Schwäbisch Hall. It's very cute and has a nice art museum. I liked it a lot. Kuma loved his collar. I would take it off because the bell was annoying and he'd carry it around in his mouth. I'm really lucky because he doesn't chew much so he sticks to Kongs and dog toys. I totally puppy-proofed the house (including buying tonz of rubbermaid containers) and he hasn't even tried to destroy anything.

Cute little town! What town is that?

Your dress looks great and that is the cutest puppy ever. Hopefully he doesn't try to eat his Christmas collar!
