Doing OK

Sunday, December 23, 2012

The past week has been OK.
Most days I ate below 2000 calories, and ate well: lots of fruits, vegetables, oats and many superfoods.
There was one day however, when I went over 2400 calories, and 460 of them came from chocolate... that is, 4 squares of large Milka chocolate, 8 squares of dark chocolate and 2 Raffaello bonbons. Amazing! They looked so small and harmless ; ))
Apart from oil and fat, chocolate and nuts are the most calorie-dense foods.

Yesterday DD and me made our Christmas baking: last year's Spark Recipe success Cranberry Almond Oatmeal Cookies (pumpkin puree substitutes butter!), and a new recipe which turned out OK but definitely not a success.
Eating Oatmeal Cookies is just as much pleasure as eating chocolates, but much easier to stop when it is enough.

I did all my planned workouts (Sun-Mon-Wed-Sat running, Tue-Thu stationary biking, Sat walking, and 6 strength training workouts).

This morning I weighed almost 2 kg less than last Sunday, back at the center of my goal range, so I could post a decent weekly average of 62.6 kg for Week 1 of Mardi Gras Maintainer challenge.

Christmas shopping, baking and cooking is all done, I only have to wrap all the gifts tomorrow morning.

My daughter's friend from Germany sent her some Milka chocolate. Now I know why he didn't like American chocolate!!! It was worth the extra calories!

You are doing a great job with the exercise! Keep it all up and you will do fine this holiday season. I hope you have an awesome week!

Ah Chocolate! 'Tis the season and that's going to happen. It didn't seem to do you any damage. I was not so lucky.

Sounds like you are doing better than OK. A little splurge now and then is not too big a deal as long as you don't get carried away. I used to love Milka and Kinder chocolates when we lived in Germany. We found an international market in St. Louis that sells them. Fortunately, we don't go to St. Louis too often :-).
