Still here

Sunday, December 23, 2012

Still here and working on remaining gluten free. I did make the mistake of having some brisket at my DH 's Holiday party and am suffering the consequences. Makes me realize I am in the right path with my plan though. My knees and feet are hurting so bad, I can hardly get out of a chair and I have not felt that way in about 4 months!

I am learning to keep GF foods in my purse when we go out to eat, some GF crackers or tortilla chips and salad dressings are now a staple.

We had a gluten free thanksgiving with the exception of makinf some bread dressing on the side for my family. And out traditional family Christmas dinner of roast need and Yorkshire pudding has been modified. My mom even made some gluten free cookies for me to enjoy while my kids are noshing on butterballs and sugar cookies.

It has been interesting the way my cravings are almost nonexistent since getting gluten out of my diet. I can have a bowl of rice chex with milk and stevia and it will keepe full til lunch. Before if I had eaten such a carb laden breakfast with no protein, I would have been gnawing on my desk by 9 am!

I have made the mistake of adding an occasional glass of wine in the evening the last few weeks also so that may be causing the pain also.

Hope everyone is doing well in their journey!

I'm reading "WHEAT BELLY" by William Davis MD, and recommend listening to his lectures on YouTube. He is a preventative cardiologist and he tells why ALL wheat is not good for us. He is very interesting.

I have GOUT, so I've changed my diet so much. Dr. Mercola says to have fermented food daily, so I've been having sauerkraut and I am NOT eating beans, etc. and I feel better.
