Hi everyone. It's Max with a story to tell. On Wednesday a friend of Mommy and Daddy's came over to visit and brought a beautiful poinsettia plant. Mommy had a silk one that I had already checked out and ignored it after that. Well, I decided to check out the new plant as soon as I saw it. Mommy was watching me and was right next to me. I was sniffing it only and then all of a sudden I had the urge and tore off half the leaf and ate it before Mommy could stop me. Mommy was freaking out. She was so worried about me. But I didn't get sick and I'm fine. Mommy now has the plant in another room with the door closed so I can't get in there. After it warms up a little more Mommy will put the plant out on the front porch and will later plant it outside in the front yard.

Today I scared both myself and Mommy. I was sniffing around the round tree in the music room next to the shelf I like to lay on. Mommy didn't see me pull off a plastic leaf and try to chew it but she heard me acting funny and chewing real hard. Mommy came and opened my mouth and was able to get the leaf out of my mouth before I swallowed it. I now know I could have choked on it if Mommy wasn't right there. Mommy once again sprayed this orangy stuff all over the tree and I don't like the smell of it so the tree will be safe for another day anyway. I don't know what comes over me. I'm real good for a while and then I become devilish all of a sudden. I guess I just don't realize until after I've done something stupid that I could have been hurt or gotten really sick or even died. I'm glad that didn't happen. I wouldn't want to miss out on Santa Claws. I hope I can behave now for the rest of the season. Mommy watches me as best as she can but of course she can't be with me every minute or stay up all night with me. I usually sleep with Mommy for about 4 or 5 hrs, so at least I'm behaving then. I like to sleep right up against Mommy's back and then she can't roll over on me.

That's my tale of 2 days. Thanks for reading this blog. Merry Christmas. Hope Santa Claws is good to everyone.

Hi Max - Mom has been real busy and we are just now catching up on reading all the blogs from the Holidays. It sounds real scary - I had better pay attention. I don't like to chew things in the house (anymore), but I sure have fun with all the neat things I find when we go for a walk. Mom and Dad are so proud of me because we can go to the park and I run with no leash all over the park, then meet them at our favorite bench. But sometimes, I like to explore the leftover garbage instead of running around. Last week, mom saw me pawing at my face and realized that something was caught. She was SO upset. She thought I was choking, but I had a bone I found caught in my mouth, not my throat. I did a boo boo and bit mom's finger when she tried to get it out. She got it out, but she was kind of upset that I bit her. I don't know what I was thinking. I LOVE my mama! Anyway, glad everything turned out OK. I guess we cats and dogs have to listen to our moms and dads.

Oh dear, Max! You do need to be careful and not eat things that could be bad for you and give your Mommy a scare. Glad to hear you are okay, and i hope you are being a good boy now! Enjoy your Christmas with Mommy and Arjay!

    Hi Max, Vince here.

I thought I held the record for eating everything in sight, but you sure beat me. Plants (real or not) are not good to eat - apart from grass (I tend to eat that when my mommy is expecting visitors, it ensures that I stay the centre of attention - and that the guests don't overstay their welcome).

Now it's Christmas you need to focus on getting as much turkey out of them as possible. I do this by refusing to eat anything else. they give me a bit and then say 'that's enough of that', but then when I refuse everything else and just wander around forlornly with big eyes, they give in.

    Stay well my friend. Vince

Max, there must be something about the name Max. Our Max has a hard time leaving the Christmas stuff alone as well. Sniff, bat at, but don't eat it Max. Glad you are okay.

    Hi Max, Cosmo here !
I'm glad you're OK and your Mommy caught you in time. Give her an extra purr for rescuing you.
I like to look at the tree and decorations, but I have to set a good example for my little brother Henry, so I leave that stuff alone. (that's him in the Christmas tie) I do like to help with the wrapping though. I like to lay on the paper when Mom's trying to wrap it around a box. I also like to lay in the boxes so she can't use them. I ran off with a bow the other day but she caught me and took it back. That started a nice game of chase. I won of course.

    Meowy Christmas to all !

Ginger, Gibson and Pixie, Mommy's cats are glad you are OK. Mommy has to watch us too. We like to get into things when she isn't looking. We are waiting for Santa Claws too, but I, Pixie have o leave Gibson alone because he is bigger than me and I want to play and he doesn't so I fight him and mommy squirts me with water and I run away and pick on Ginger and she swats me. Boo hoo, I will go have a sleep now. No fun. emoticon emoticon emoticon Merry Christmas from Ginger, Gibson and Pixie.

Hi Max, it's your friend Max here....I like to eat things I am not supposed to as well. Leaves are a favorite so the only plants Mom keeps now have pointy things on them. I don't like them so I leave them alone. I remember that orange stuff, kept me out of the tree. Now I am older, I don't want to climb it anymore, but it is nice to lay under! I am trying to be good, but it would be a lot easier if Mom didn't have two small jumans walking around trying to catch me. When they are here, Ananay and I stay upstaris when we can. Stay away from leaves, unless you like to throw wup!

Max, Zoey here, your doggie friend, so glad to hear you are okay and that your Mommy caught all the "bad" things you did before you were hurt or sick. I'm trying to be good too as I wants Santa Claws to come see me too!!

Merry Christmas to my special kitty friend.

Too funny. I hope you don't scare your mommy any more!

You are so very funny, Max! But you need to work on curbing that curiosity of yours. It sounds like your mom has her hands full with you. Love the picture of you staring up at the Christmas tree. My only question is...did you leap? Remind me to tell you about a little Max that lives with us. Merry Christmas to you and your mom and dad!

Perhaps a motion detector with loud horns and flashing lights will keep you off the tree. Stop scary your dear Mom who is only looking out for you. Curiosity really has been known to kill cats....hence the leaves.
