Ready, Set up, Now Let's Go!

The Friday before Christmas at work (Produce Department) is always like this. The HUMUNGOUS truck has arrived with all the goodies. Cooler is full. Flowers are arranged. Fruit Baskets made. As unbelievable as it sounds, I look forward to this day. All the months of ordering survey, drawing up plans, pricing, labor hours, ordering.... comes to fruition (sorry for the pun) at this moment. I have 4 days to sell everything I've got, and say a prayer that I made the right decision.
The job that I had previous to this did not allow me the freedom (same position but a competitor). The rules were stringent, you step out of line and you don't look like the rest of the chain of stores. This one, with a few exceptions, expects something new, fresh, different. Not extravigent but something to get the customer's attention.
I went out on a limb on a couple of things and I just pray they sell. Cuties Clementines .... I've made this massive display of them. I'm not making any money on them, I am out for the sales. Seriously, if they don't sell in 4 days I am in trouble; especially because they are not being refrigerated and will start breaking down.
I've got regular poinsettias, glitter poinsettias and mini poinsettias. I don't know what I was thinking but I brought in white-daisy like- mums. They're in different colored pots with snow flakes on them. They look great next to all of the red poinsettias and fruit-baskets, not poisonous to pets, but have a higher price point than the others. Mums for Christmas? I just hope people will think they are as eyecatching as I do and spend the cash.
Giddy up and go... in 4 days I'll either be celebrating or buried with a case of Cuties and a pot of mums.
