Personal & Family Update....

Tuesday, December 18, 2012

You have all been so faithful and kind to think of and pray for me and my family through the rough times that we've been through the last few years. I realize that I've not been as good with updates, especially since September, when I asked for prayers for Kristina's disability hearing. (It's been an interesting autumn, to say the least.)

A Huge thank you for the thoughts and prayers - she DID get awarded disability! She hasn't received her big back payment check yet (they were hoping to get it before Christmas); but we're thankful she's gotten her medical card, and things are on the move. It's just moving at government speed....

Last Friday night, she had another seizure - the first in six months - and it was a bad one. Also, she's having problems with a disc in her neck. She had surgery on it a couple of years ago; and now it looks as if she may need surgery again. Her arm is going numb, and she has no strength in it.

Speaking of spinal problems; I've been going through physical therapy for my low back and left leg for pain and numbness. Unfortunately, the physical therapy only made it worse; so they cut it short. I'm waiting to hear from my doctor to see if he wants an MRI (probably); and where we're going from here. The back pain and leg problems have been part of the reason I've not been online much - it's difficult to sit long in my computer chair.

I know this sounds like a long litany of complaints and woe. In reality, though, it's balanced by so many blessings. Our family is getting along right now - I have my beloved grandchildren close by - we've found a wonderful new church and are making new friends there.... After last Friday's events in Connecticut, I count my blessings that I can hold my family close to me, and pray daily for those who cannot. My health is poor right now, and so is our bank account; but I am rich in so many other ways. God Bless you all, my friends, and Merry Christmas, if I'm scarce around here between now and then! emoticon emoticon

Appreciate the update and wish you a very Merry Christmas. Glad you've able to find the blessings amidst the chaos. Love the snow scene you've selected for your wallpaper as Wisconsin is about to get bombarded with a little more of the white stuff. I love the snow! Continued prayers for you and your family in hopes God can be both a blessing in and through you to the people you're prayerfully directed to. Hug, hug -- Evelyn
