Your appointment calendar

If you're like most of us, your calendars are bulging with events and to-do lists. This week, my exercise minutes had dwindled, but I began my catching-up today with 50 minutes of cardio.

Just want to send a note of encouragement to not let the busy days deter you from burning those calories! As I'm facing this week, I'm gonna make a few appointments - with myself - to get at least three or four workouts in. If I don't pencil it in, it might not happen!

And it takes extra resolve to stay on track with eating. Yesterday, we went to see our ballerina grandchildren in a children's performance of "The Nutcracker" . It would have been easy to grab some fast food as we headed out, but I got my little ice cooler, and filled it with a lean sandwich, a container of fresh veggies, a diet drink, and a serving of grapes, and ate it on the way.

During this busy season, I challenge YOU to make time to take care of YOU! Let's leave some extra pounds behind as we say good-bye to 2012!
