Falling For Fitness Challenge - Week Eight Update
Friday, December 14, 2012
My week started off with a potluck on Sunday. It was not a good scene. I ate waaaay too much and I felt absolutely terrible afterwards. Then PMS took hold and I ate junk on Monday too. By Tuesday I got a grip on things and started to turn things around. I haven't been an angel by any stretch of the imagination, but I've been pretty good at ignoring that little red devil sitting on my shoulder telling me to chow down.
I lost a bit of weight this week and I've been on the go every day, so I've had no trouble getting my fitness minutes in for this week's challenge. Walking and running are the most enjoyable cardio activities for me, but it's still way too icy to run here so I went out for a brisk walk several times this week and racked up 125 minutes. Then we went on a family outing yesterday and I logged an additional 105 minutes of walking there.
The bonus challenge was to switch one produce item to organic this week. There wasn't much organic produce available at my store this week but they did have bananas so I bought those. I have had some organic fruit before (like oranges) that tasted much better than the conventional ones but to be honest, the organic bananas that I got this week look and taste exactly the same as the regular ones. I do feel better about buying organic anyway though. It's definitely better for the environment.
I now have 3.8 pounds left to reach my year end weight loss goal. I know I can do it if I can stay active over Christmas....oh, and I need to stay away from the potluck buffet too!
