Where does the time go... and what do you give up?

Friday, December 14, 2012

I have been struggling lately with time... in that I was always busy before and now seems to be so busy I find no time to be here on spark people... I miss that time, but I also know that what I am doing instead is just as important as being here.. and truthfully probly more important...

So as my status says I'm kinda gonna take off till early January... I may pop in here and there, especially is any holiday motivational is needed to maintain my progress during this time...

I have really been doing some of the internal work on sparklepie that I needed as far as dealing with my anxiety and fears and also feeling as though I should be doing more, doing better... I have never been able to stop comparing myself to others or to see myself in a new light... a more fit light... I still see sparklepie in the mirror... overweight at 250+ pounds, tired, unhealthy and blah.... Yet here I am.. at the gym 4 nights a week for 1-2 hours... able to walk 4 miles, able to finsih a zumba and toning session in the same night...

eating better than I ever have and dispite my hair loss/dryness from my lack of proper nutrition in the beginning... I am now so energized it's like I'm bouncing around on some kind of high... I suppose a high of feeling good... finding happiness and finding myself...

I weighed in today... 170, have not updated tracker but this means I've got a total loss of 81 pounds this year...and that stuns me!!

So I suppose I just wanted to write a quickie blog... and tell you all how much you are important... and the time you give yourself is important and even though I'm going to 90% "unplug" from non-essential computer time...and will be around here and there... I'd gotten msg wondering if I was ok... so to you all... I am fine... just working on those deep, less fitness/food focused goals and for that I simply need time.

Wishing you all a happy season... so something for someone else this year that would least exspect it! trust me the suprise payoff is worth it... and then do something for yourself that is not buying yourself a smokin deal at the store... take a meditation class... go to a playground and pretend your a kid... do something this season to feed your soul and prepare you for an awesome 2013... because as I am learning... we are worth taking time away from the "world" to find joy.

love and holiday hugs to you all!
Sparklepie.

What a blessing to know you've been away because you are doing such a great job taking care of yourself and living your life! If you would like a book for the holidays, I'd like to recommend The Art of Extreme Self-Care. Such an exquisite look at finding new ways to treasure yourself!

You have some good insights. Spark is a tool to help us live the life we choose-not to increase the stress. It is good that you are taking time to work on the areas you need to improve the quality of your life. I struggle, as I know many do, with some of the same issues. Take the time you need, and take care of yourself. We will be here when you are ready to return or feel you need a little Spark in your day.
Best wishes as you pursue your chosen life goals. emoticon

You will certainly be missed. And I hope you don't mind but I'll still send you sparkmail once in a while to let you know I'm wondering about you.

You have done a FANTASTIC job and NEVER doubt that!

Honestly? Even I, the gym rat, haven't made it to the gym/worked out much in over a week! December is just so busy with holidays and work projects closing.

You'll be just fine because you've gained so much more than the weight you've lost--you know how to keep active and control your hunger (and lack thereof when you want to eat anyways), and so you'll be just fine.

    See you after the holidays!

What is more important? Eating right & getting in your exercise, or connecting on SparkPeople? I think it is pretty clear which one has the higher impact on your health... just stay the course with what you have learned and your friends will all be here to welcome you back in January.
