Week One: an introduction

Thursday, December 13, 2012

An introduction! And me rambling about why I'm going on this journey. In short, for those who don't want to watch the video, I'm a 30 year old woman who spends entirely too much time behind a desk. I'm working on being more conscious of what I eat, getting up and moving around more often, and working on getting healthier in general!

I love hearing the various plans that people have for improvement. Your plan sounds like a winner. Every little step can make a long-term, big improvement. See you next week to find out how your week goes.

Hey Pinkie - i'd love to hear more about your story. Unfortunately, the audio is a bit too low to hear you adequately - you may want to consider adjusting the audio settings on your computer/mic. emoticon welcome to sparkpeople. I heard you say that you are interested in walking at least a mile a day - if you have an ipod touch/ iphone, let me recommend that you get the Nike + Ipod app. I've been using it since april 26, 2011, and i've accumulated over 260 miles of walking/ running - it logs and records your miles, and you can't help but feel emboldened by your progress - it spurs you forward and encourages you to go further. As for convenience eating - i hear you. sometimes it's easiest to pick up the snickers bar because it's there, and all you have to do is unwrap it to eat it. I've had that problem too. The trick, i think, is to make your convenience foods healthy ones. there are easy and quick healthy snacks out there. Fruit is even easier; just rinse and eat, haha emoticon I look forward to hearing more from you.
